PRINCIPAL

Peter Martens

Peter’s passion for real estate development can be traced back to his first job after graduating from the University of Manitoba with a degree in civil engineering. He worked at a small family business that quickly grew into a significant construction, development, and property management company, focused in western Canada.

For nearly 30 years, his company built thousands of multi-family units, along with significant office and retail space. After moving to the U.S., Peter applied his real estate expertise to residential development and industrial land investment. Today, he heads up the Martens Development team, known for its boutique approach to industrial real estate development.

PRINCIPAL

David Martens

David’s extensive education includes a degree in biochemistry from Arizona State University and a JD/MBA. He lends his particular management and legal expertise to help grow the company at Martens. Prior to his current role, he was in a variety of healthcare leadership positions.

Bringing his deep management experience to Martens, he currently oversees 2 million square feet of development, which includes deal sourcing, joint venture structuring, budget management and leasing.

VP of Operations

Lisa Brammer

Lisa oversees the day-to-day operations at MDC, including finance, human resources, and overall business administration. She keeps the business running smoothly and is known for her sharp eye for operational detail, along with a genuine appreciation for spreadsheets, budgets, and making systems work better.

Lisa grew up in construction on the retail side of the industry. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, she returned home to Prescott to support her family’s business, Nail-Co Building Supply Inc., where she served as office manager. She later relocated to Phoenix and continued in the construction supply industry as an operations manager before joining the team at MDC.

Senior VP, Design and Construction

John Parnell

John has been involved in development in the Phoenix market since 2009 and works across the entire development process, from sourcing deals to managing projects and seeing them through disposition. He enjoys the challenge of taking a project from an early idea to something that ultimately shapes the community around it.

A graduate of Cal Poly’s Construction Management program and ASU’s Master’s in Real Estate Development program, John has worked across nearly every asset type. Prior to joining MDC, he was with Greystar, where he oversaw six multifamily developments across Arizona.
